Natalie MacEwan
Natalie MacEwan was selected to represent the BSA’s 2.2 million youth participants and nearly 1 million adult volunteers because of her exceptional work as a member of Venturing Crew 22, based in Western Los Angeles County Council.
“It was an honor to represent the Boy Scouts of America, my council and my hometown in this tradition,” explained Natalie. “Hearing from our nation’s leaders about how much they respect Scouting and the impact it has on young people makes me hopeful that the experiences I have had in Scouting will continue to empower me as a leader in my community.”
“Our findings from a nationwide, scientific survey demonstrates the significant, positive impact Eagle Scouts have on society – from holding leadership positions in their workplace and neighborhood to voting and volunteering to protecting the environment and being prepared for emergencies.
There is no shortage of examples or anecdotal accounts that suggest Scouting produces better citizens, but now there is scientific evidence to confirm the prosocial benefits of Scouting or earning the rank of Eagle Scout.”

“As parents of children in the Boy Scouts of America, we are confident that the organization puts the safety of our kids first. BSA parents believe all victims should be heard. The BSA has a moral responsibilty to live up to the very same values we seek to instill in our children. We believe the BSA plays an indespensible role in the formation of character and values in America youth.”
